A Different Kind of Challenge
This unprecedented global crisis has led to everyone spending significantly more time at home than usual, which means lots of tea and banana bread. This isn’t the challenging part for me - I am ridiculously fortunate and privileged to have grown up with a wonderful family in a beautiful rural area, surrounded by wildlife and countryside. I have my studies to keep me occupied and a seemingly endless list of things I have wanted to do for years. The only minor issue with my family home is the lack of other people around. We don’t have neighbours and we don’t have many other people to talk to, except the lovely farmer at the other end of our ‘track’. So down here in the middle of nowhere is, and always will be, socially isolated.
The challenge for us is not pulling each others hair out.
We haven’t spent every day in such close proximity for years, and there’s a lot of things we have forgotten about each other. Aside from that, this home I grew up in has become a little haven and I am so lucky to be here. Mainly for a module I’m studying, but also to avoid going mad with time on my hands, I have created a very short glimpse into what ‘Home’ means to my family.
I hope everyone is keeping well and finding their own projects to keep themselves occupied.
