On the Road Again
Yesterday I got back from my 8th shoot in just under 2 weeks. It's been hectic, but I've loved being able to get out and see people again. I travelled from my home near Bristol down South to Cornwall, then onwards to Manchester via Ansteys Cove in Devon. From Manchester I visited a contributor in Brighton, before heading up towards Essex. Then my last couple of shoots were in Oxford and the Peak District; a grand total of about 1,198 miles.
All those hours of driving were of course for my upcoming publication, Outsiders: Her Stories. If you know me at all, you’ll know that this project has been my world for the last year and is something I feel very passionate about. Born from an observation while working on Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, I came to the realisation that there was a real lack of women taking part in outdoor activities. Whatever the reason was for this, I decided it was time to do something about it.
I decided to start by reaching out to women from different industries and backgrounds, to gather a range of thoughts on the topic. The response was amazing, I was overwhelmed with the amount of people who were happy to chat and wanted to be involved.
Here's a few of the lovely women I've had the pleasure of meeting and capturing during my trip.
